As a UX Designer at Paessler, you'll join our dynamic product team, a collaborative group dedicated to creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces to our products. We are seeking a talented and passionate UX Designer to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of Paessler's monitoring solutions, including our renowned PRTG suite. You will be responsible for the entire UX design process, from user research and ideation to prototyping and iteration. You will collaborate closely with product owners, product managers, marketers, and developers to create intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly experiences that empower our users to effectively monitor their IT and OT infrastructure. Your focus will be on simplifying complex tasks and creating solutions that are both powerful and easy to use.

YOUR TASKS

  • User Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of user needs and identify user requirements working with the product management team specifically for Paessler's IT and OT monitoring software leveraging various research methods. Synthesize findings from user research, analytics, personas, and scenarios to inform and guide a conceptualization process, ensuring our solutions are intuitive and user-friendly, even when dealing with complex monitoring data.
  • Conceptual Design: Design and iteratively refine user flows, information architecture, page layouts, and interaction design based on user feedback gathered from our active user community. Develop innovative, needs-based, and well-conceived concepts using prototyping methodologies, including scribbles, wireframes, and low/mid/high fidelity prototypes for software, web, and mobile interfaces. 
  • Visual Design: Create high-fidelity design assets based on the concept and Paessler's design system for handoff to front-end developers and product managers. Contribute to and maintain consistency across applications by updating the Paessler UX Pattern Library, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Scenario Development & Product Improvement: Contribute to the development of user scenarios and propose innovative ideas for product enhancements that simplify the complexities of IT and OT monitoring.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across marketing, product management, and engineering to ensure alignment and a cohesive user experience across the PRTG suite. 
  • Business Alignment: Ensure proposed design solutions and strategic frameworks align with Paessler's business requirements set by the product managers and leadership, contributing to the continued growth and success of our monitoring solutions.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related fiel
  • 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions on software applications, ideally within the IT monitoring, network management, or OT space
  • Proven experience with user research methodologies, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD).
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, with a passion for simplicity and ease of use   
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with IT and OT infrastructure monitoring concepts and terminology is a significant advantage
