Underwriter Engineering (m/w/d)

• Support the Engineering Dept to ensure development and profitability of the portfolio.
• Develop the UW Strategy, guidelines, standards, processes and tools to support this goal.
• Manage the referral business with UW authority.
• Participate in the business reviews of the BU portfolio.
• Support the team in managing CAT accumulation, reinsurance interaction and treaty renewal.
• Participate in some expert groups internally or externally.
• Data and process analysis: identification, management and communication of requirements from and to the line of business.
• Interact with the other functions e.g. Risk Engineering Function, claims.
• Be a representative of the BU in the market.
• Participate in internal projects.

• 3 years of property insurance experience.
• Strong existing broker relationships with a concentration on the retail brokerage community.
• Strong underwriting acumen.
• Experience with, and strong understanding of, policy forms, including broker manuscripts.
• Proven customer relationship experience.
• Strong communication skills, including negotiation and presentation experience.
• Strong collaboration and team-building skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• Strong understanding of CAT peril modeling/pricing.
• Develop and build the Engineering book of business.
• Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships.
• Identify and prequalify new business.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity.
• Native Spanish and good English language skills.
