Senior Supervisor (m/d/d)
Manage a multiple person crew efficiently with the goal of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The full expert knowledge of all Probat/Burns roasters, oven packs and natural gas burners, PLC controls (Siemens and Allen Bradley), Coffee Production Software application (domestic and international), Specific Coffee Roasting knowledge or techniques, and associated roasting equipment. Their Coffee specific knowledge is supported by their mechanical, electrical, controls, and process knowledge. Troubleshoot equipment issues at customer site, including: assessing damage, determining parts to be replaced, executing repair of equipment and rebuild of the equipment. Install new equipment at customer site; including supervising a team with varying skills to execute the job. Project supervision/management tasks including: creating proposals, developing project timelines, coordinating project meetings, creating project reports, contracting supporting goods/services, and other similar services. People supervision/management tasks including: hiring / firing, organizing & executing training events, maintaining training logs, and developing and maintaining work schedules. Provide remote (telephone, online or email) support to customers to assist their mechanics to troubleshoot and fix roaster problems. *This position manages a team of 8 skilled tradespeople, including millwrights, electricians, and welders per installation of patented roasting systems. ** Travel as needed per customer requirements, approximately 75% of the time.
Requirements:
High school and 5 years of relevant production, installation, and supervision experience in Project Manager, Laser Production Supervisor, Field Supervisor or relevant position.
In addition, relevant experience must include the following:
- Experience with Coffee Roasting equipment, Controls and Processing including: Solid drum roasters, perforated drum roasters, bowl roasters; Burns 23R, 23RS, and Thermolow Roasters.
- Experience with Operations Applications (software) and PLC Controls for both current and legacy Roasting Control Programs, including Allen Bradley PLC's and Siemens PLC's.
- Experience with IOT devices for control valves and process variable feedback: Danfoss actuators, SMC electromechanical valves, Thermistors and Thermocouples, Spark Detection,
- Position and Level sensors (Guided Wave Radar); and Emerson controllers.
- Experience with environmental and pollution control devises that are integral parts of the roasting system.
- Experience with Explosive Dust and Natural Gas or fuel oils operations with specific Coffee Industry.
- Experience with Industrial Motors and Drives.
- Experience with Industrial Burner Applications.
- Experience with Pneumatic Conveying and Material Transport.
- Experience with High Speed Rotational Equipment.
- Experience with Hazardous Process and equipment operation.
- Experience with Rigging and Securing Heavy Equipment.
- Experience with Pilot Roaster Excellence 2020 controls.
- Forklift certified
- OSHA 10/30 certified (PPE, Emergency Evaluation, First Aid, Rigging, Working from Heights, AED, L.O.T.O)
