The

Department of Cellular Parasitology at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine at the "Centre For Structural Systems Biology" has an immediate vacancy for a full-time post-doc.
Postdoc (m/f/d)

The research group under the direction of Prof. Dr. Tim Gilberger is investigating the biology of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum.
We are looking for a motivated person with an interest in structural and cell biological aspects of P. falciparum blood stages. We offer a position within a dynamic research group with excellent infrastructure.
Your profile:
- Motivated scientist with a PhD in biology or biochemistry
- Strong interest in structural and cellular parasitology
- Work experience in imaging methods incl. cryo-EM
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are required.
Your tasks:
- Joint research of the working group on cellular and structural parasitology
- Interest and ability to develop new aspects within the given research focs
- Willingness to attract third-party funding and contribute to joint applications for research funds
- Willingness to supervise PhD students and research assistants
- Active participation in teaching at the University Hamburg

Remuneration is paid in accordance with TV-AVH (collective agreement of the Hamburg Labour Law Association) in pay group EG 13. The position is initially limited to 3 years.
