Platform Engineer Linux and Virtualization (m/f/d)
Your tasks consist of
- Design, operation, and lifecycle management of VMware Hypervisors, Docker Containers, and Kubernetes, as well as RHEL systems and Oracle Linux
- Qualification and resolution of infrastructure related tickets
- Automation of routine tasks, server software provisioning and configuration management
- Execution of periodic maintenance and patching
- Monitoring of the entire virtualized environment, basic knowledge of CheckMK or Nagios
- Definition of standards and processes within the area of responsibility
- Hardening and vulnerability management of the systems being responsible for
- Solution development in collaboration with other specialized departments, taking into account compliance and regulatory aspects
- Execution of change management within the area of responsibility
- Resolution and handling of incidents within the area of responsibility
- Participation in the weekly on-call rotation
Your skills consist of
- 2+ years of experience in the field of virtualized environments and their operation.
Know-how in the area of containers and their management (K8s, Docker, Rancher, etc.). - Good knowledge of common virtualization platforms, system management solutions, and their operation and management (Vmware vSphere, vCenter, RHEL Satellite).
- Network and database knowledge, multi-tier applications maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform...). - Experience with one or more of the listed technologies and products: Elastic Stack, Git, CI/CD, Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, NginX.
- Experience with common infrastructure services (DNS, NTP, AD, etc.).
- Excellent command of the English language.
