For our Satcom Digital Product line, we are looking for a
 
Optical System Engineer - SATCOM (f/m/x)
 
with expertise in optical products and background knowledge on optical communication technology. You will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of cutting-edge optical systems for satellite communication and be responsible for the design, testing, and validation of optical products.You will be closely working with our multi-disciplinary team to ensure superior functionality and performance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our company while continuously expanding your own skills and knowledge in the field of optical engineering. You will be working with a team who appreciates creativity, gathering experiences and getting the job executed
 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and integrate optical systems for satellite communications, including optical amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, and fiber optics for SATCOM products.
  • Perform testing and validation of optical products, both in-house and at external sites
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation and technical reports, including design specifications, test procedures, and results
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements in optical engineering to inform development processes and approaches
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical expertise to support product development
  • Pre-sales technical consultancy to our customers on product features and updates to enhance their experience on WORK Microwave products
 

Required Skills and Qualification:

  • Proven work experience as optical engineer in design, development of optical systems
  • Strong knowledge of optical communication principles and technologies, such as fiber optics, photonic components, modulations
  • Familiarity with telescope, beacon, link budget calculations, quantum technology
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills in English and/or German, customer oriented attitude
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in optical engineer, physics or related filed 
  • Basics in programming using python is beneficial
  • Beginner experience in using tools like oscilloscope, spectrum analyser
