At PLAION, the Head of Game Analytics & User Research (all genders) will play a key role in shaping the success of iconic AAA games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Dead Island 2. Reporting to the VP of Business Development, you will lead our global analytics and user research teams, delivering actionable insights to enhance player experiences and business outcomes. 
This full-time role can be based out of our office in Munich/Planegg, Nottingham (UK) or Warsaw (Poland) in a hybrid position. 
In this position you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and shaping our high-quality games. You will work closely with studio & publishing senior management, cross-functional teams to lead the strategic development of player analytics and data Solutions. This leadership position will report to the VP of Business Development and oversee two specialized teams - Data Science and User Research - while fostering collaboration across international locations to drive innovation and actionable insights for both game development and publishing. 

Your Tasks

  • Are an experienced, confident, and forward-thinking analytics leader to drive the integration of player data and insights into game development and publishing strategies. 
  • Have proficiency in advanced analytics, telemetry systems, and data-driven methodologies, with a strong ability to design and implement tools, processes, and reporting systems that deliver actionable insights and measurable outcomes.
  • Champion new, bold, and innovative ideas, including leveraging AI and machine learning, to redefine how data supports decision-making and creates transformative business impact.
Your Tasks:
  • You will develop and execute the overall strategy for Analytics and Player Data to support studio game development and publishing goals
  • You will lead, coordinate, and inspire two specialized teams: Data Science and User Research, operating across international locations (Germany, UK, Poland, USA)
  • You will collaborate with studios and publishing teams to design and implement player analytics solutions that enhance game performance, player satisfaction, and business outcomes
  • You will oversee the implementation and management of telemetry systems, dashboards, and advanced analytics pipelines for 20+ games and projects
  • You will partner with the DevOps team to optimize tools and processes for data collection and analysis, ensuring cost efficiency and scalability
  • You will drive innovation through AI and machine learning initiatives, exploring new methodologies to provide predictive insights and player behaviour analysis
  • You will act as a bridge between game development and publishing teams, ensuring seamless alignment and actionable insights. 

Your Profile

  • You bring solid and relevant, long-time experience in analytics, data science, or player insights, ideally within the gaming or entertainment industry 
  • You have proven leadership experience managing distributed teams across multiple locations. 
  • You have strong expertise in player analytics, telemetry systems, and data-driven decision-making processes 
  • Your proficiency with BigQuery, SQL, and Power BI to analyze and visualize complex datasets effectively is outstanding 
  • You bring familiarity with AI/ML methodologies and their application to gaming or consumer insights
  • You have exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable strategies for diverse stakeholders 
  • You are business fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a PLUS!
