Data Analyst Climate and Environment

OVERVIEW

Fairtrade is an alternative approach to conventional trade and is based on a partnership between producers and consumers. Fairtrade offers producers a better deal and improved terms of trade. This allows them the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future. Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their everyday shopping.

Fairtrade International is the international non-profit, multi stakeholder body that is responsible for the strategic direction of Fairtrade, sets Fairtrade standards and supports producers. A key aspect of our work is tracking the impact of Fairtrade on producers.

The Global Impact unit does this by using data and evidence to drive decision making and planning, by being responsive to the views of our stakeholders including producer organizations and communities that we work with, and through learning lessons from our work which inform further programme development.

Our work in the unit is organized in two sub-teams: (1) Information & Knowledge and (2) Impact Management, both areas of work contribute to the unit's aim to accelerate the access of relevant and easy to use data insights for impact driven decisions. For the former we are guided by a digital, data and information strategy that we use to support decisions on what data we choose to pursue, manage, use, and govern. For the latter, we focus on Fairtrade's impact at scale and seek new forms of collaboration, new platforms for learning and spreading what works, new ways to measure to innovate, and new types of impact services in projects and programs.

This is a position in the Global Impact unit that aims to accelerate the access of relevant and easy to use data and insights for impact driven decisions. We are searching for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team who brings both knowledge of data management as well as capacity building expertise. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in all aspects of simplifying data processes for stakeholders that may lack technical knowledge and visualization.
