Claims Handler Specialist (m/f/d)

Job Description

  • Investigation of claims: Conducting case analysis, evaluating coverage, making decisions on acceptance or rejection, and managing follow-up, review, and closure.
  • Negotiation and settlement of claims: Handling claims within delegated authority.
  • Reporting to the Head Office Claims Department: Informing them about any claims that exceed delegated authority.
  • Collaboration with underwriters and loss engineers: Working closely with these colleagues.
  • Supervision of selected lawyers in each claim: Overseeing legal representation.
  • Staying informed about case law, legislation, professional agreements, and litigation in the insurance field: Keeping up-to-date with legal developments.
  • Regular reporting to the Claims Manager: Providing updates on activities.
  • Technical support for other team members: Assisting colleagues.
  • Participation in various claims-related meetings (on-site, with adjusters, lawyers): Attending relevant meetings.
  • Reviewing, refining, and signing contractual documents related to claims: Ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualification

  • Degree in law.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in Property, Liability & Engineering Claims.
  • Strong collaboration and team-building skills.
  • Establishing, developing, and expanding relationships with lawyers and loss adjusters.
  • Strong communication skills, including negotiation and presentation experience.
  • Native Spanish and good English language skills.
